Fondation Cuomo (The Cuomo Foundation, for our English–speaking friends) has been officially authorized by a Monegasque Sovereign Decree on May 4, 2001, published by the Journal de Monaco on May 18, 2001.
The Foundation objectives, as listed in the Statutes, are:
1. To give assistance to the poor of all ages;
2. To ensure the material and moral well-being of abandoned children;
3. To help the educational, cultural, artistic and sports development of needy young people;
4. Provide legal and judicial protection for economically disadvantaged citizens.
In order to accomplish its mission the Foundation can:
• Establish scholarships and awards on a regular basis;
• Provide life annuities;
• Organize events for the promotion of its projects;
• Open and support boarding houses for elderly people and minors, sports and health installations, research laboratories, artists workshops;
In defining the above fields of social assistance, the Foundation will seek the appropriate collaboration of the Monaco Red Cross.
